Astrology Vocabulary
Your birth time is often listed on an official birth certificate, particularly the long-form version You may also be able to request this information from the hospital where you were born or from state or county vital records offices. Family records, baby books, or early medical documents sometimes include a recorded time. Even narrowing your birth time down to a general window can be helpful, and we can talk through what level of accuracy is needed for your session.
If you are unable to locate an exact birth time, you're not alone. Many people don't have access to this information, and it doesn't mean you can't have a meaningful astrology session. In these cases, we focus on the parts of the chart that don't depend on exact birth time and other broader themes. I'll also help you understand which elements of astrology are time-sensitive and which are not, so expectations remain clear and comfortable.
Your birth time helps determine certain parts of your chart related to timing, life themes and how experiences tend to unfold over time. When a birth time is accurate, it allows for a more complete and nuanced picture. That said, astrology is still meaningful without an exact birth time. Many foundational elements of your chart remain the same, and insight can still be gained through broader patterns and themes. Knowing your birth time simply adds another layer of depth, rather than being a requirement.
